Job Description
Spang Engineered Solutions, a division of Spang & Company, has an opening for a Production Supervisor at its McKinney, TX location. This position will maintain safe, effective, and productive operations in our manufacturing and assembly processes. They will also monitor, develop, and coordinate production processes along with enforcing departmental work and safety rules.
Spang Engineered Solutions designs and manufactures custom inductive components for an array of industries including renewable energy, solar, medical, aerospace, automotive, and military. Our manufacturing locations include Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix AZ, McKinney, TX in the U.S.A., and Xiamen, China.
The major responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting production processes, improving safety and efficiency, and training new employees. The role also involves updating work schedules and managing production results through ERP systems. Additionally, the position supports Lean Manufacturing and ERP projects and ensures compliance with the company's ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality programs.
The supervisory responsibilities include coordinating job safety and training programs, maintaining safety documentation, and conducting new employee orientations and cross-training for existing staff. The role also involves performing performance appraisals, providing feedback, and managing employee recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and development. Additionally, it focuses on fostering strong employee relations, ensuring effective communication, and monitoring employee performance through coaching, counseling, and discipline.
Qualifications include the ability to work extended shifts and weekends as needed. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or in a technical discipline. Two to five years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing ERP environment along with experience in production processes and basic mechanical abilities required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
