GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the general guidance and direction of the MembershipOperations Supervisor or shift lead, this position is responsible for the operations and memberships of the FItCIty Recreation Center, including the front desk, child watch, and concessions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- May be responsible for opening or closing the facility, and maintaining building security and appearance.
- Works with membership records, including tracking, billing, and resolving issues.
- Assists with a variety of Recreation Center patron services, including memberships/passes/general admittance, child watch check-in and care, sports equipment check out, answers questions regarding programs, services, costs, and general operating policies and procedures; monitors the general activities of patrons to ensure compliance with Recreation Center rules and regulations.
- Ensures a clean and safe working area.
- Assists in program registration within the ParksRecreation department.
- Follows procedure when handling cash, performing transactions, and for product inventory.
- Troubleshoots problems, enforces rules and regulations, and resolves customer concerns to ensure a safe, high-quality, pleasant recreational environment for patrons.
- Responds quickly and accurately to patrons in person, over the phone, or through Podium.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position including working early mornings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Will report to work well-groomed and in uniform following applicable dress codes.
- Must abide by all city policies and procedures.
- Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and guests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience: Six (6) months of experience in customer service is preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Red Cross CPR Certification within 3 months of hire.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a food handlers permit.
- Must possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities in cash handling.
- Must be personable, willing to learn, possess conflict resolution skills, and have the ability to reason and exercise sound judgment.
- Understanding of policies and procedures. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Ability to represent the department professionally to the general public.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be proficient in English. Proficiency in Spanish is desired and may qualify for additional bilingual pay.
