Job Description:As a K-12 Executive Functioning Tutor, you will provide individualized support to students who need help developing skills such as time management, organization, task initiation, and goal-setting. You will work closely with students to identify their unique needs and implement strategies that help them succeed academically and personally. Your role is to guide students in building habits and routines that foster independence and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to grades 5-12 students focusing on executive functioning skills
- Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement in executive functioning and tailor sessions accordingly
- Teach strategies for improving time management, organization, planning, task prioritization, and goal-setting
- Help students develop effective study routines and habits that promote long-term academic success
- Motivate and encourage students to take ownership of their learning and build self-confidence
Qualifications:
- Experience working with grades 5-12 students, preferably in tutoring or academic coaching
- Strong understanding of executive functioning skills and how they impact academic performance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and families
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of students
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple students' progress effectively
- Warm, open personality
- Successful rapport with students
- Reliability (be available at the same time, at least two days per week, for the duration of the school year)
- Availability at least two days after school from 3:30-7 pm
Schedule: Availability Mon-Thurs from 3:30-6:30 pm. These hours fill as calls come in and you are matched with students.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
