Set up and operates pressure die casting machines to cast parts. Monitors the process and the quality of the product and makes necessary corrections to the process in order to maintain a steady flow of quality product to the customer. Demonstrates Spartan’s Core Operating Values through work activities, actions, and behaviors.

 

1. Follows Spartan’s Core Operating Values and safety standards/requirements in all work and team activities.

2. Performs set up duties, including:

    Sets up the die casting machine, ladling system, and die spray system.

    Sets operational parameters on the machine and monitor. Make corrections as needed.

    Sets up the work area and the trim press.  Initiates work orders when needed.

    Jobs in and out of ERP System at machine.  Certain positions may require training to and the operation of the overhead crane.

3. Operates the die casting machine and monitors machine functions, including:

    Monitors the product quality using required gages and inspection criteria.

    Monitors the process control systems.

    Loads ingots into furnaces or bar feeder

    Verifies shot trimmed correctly

    Repairs and makes adjustments to the shot end of the die casting machine.

4. Cleans Aluminum holding furnace. 5. Packages the product and labels product correctly

6. Completes required paperwork correctly and neatly.

7. Follows required procedures to maintain safety and quality.

8. Follows proper machine startup and shutdown procedures.

9. Maintains a clean, safe work area, including performing assigned safety/housekeeping duties.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

Preferred:

   High School/GED

   1 years manufacturing experience
