Minimum Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- BSN
- Three years of clinical experience
- Licensed to practice nursing in South Carolina
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON)
Preferred Education
- N/A
- Five years of clinical experience
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN)
- BLS Certification
- Completes and coordinates patient assessment, providing hands-on expert care
- Coordinates and implements plans of care
- Develops and monitors outcomes based on plans of care
- Develops and presents educational programs and materials to clients and staff to support competent wound and/or ostomy care facility-wide and in the community
- Complies with established policies and procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory
- Assures continuity of care through effective decision making resulting in quality patient care
- Documents all aspects of patient care by following established charting procedure to show the patient's progress or any change in the patient's condition
- Other duties as assigned
