Position Overview
The Building Coordinator will ensure smooth daily operations of the facility, coordinate vendor services, assist with public access and administrative tasks, and serve as an on-site liaison for building-related needs. Scope of Work
Facility Oversight
- Monitor the condition and function of building systems (HVAC, lights, security).
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
- Coordinate with vendors for maintenance, repair, and upkeep as needed.
- Open and close the facility as directed.
Vendor Coordination
- Serve as point of contact for janitorial, landscaping, pest control, and other service providers.
- Maintain logs of service requests and completed work.
- Coordinate supply orders and deliveries.
Administrative Support
- Greet and assist visitors and vendors on-site.
- Provide general clerical support to the General Manager (filing, document handling, scheduling).
- Assist with setup for public meetings and events.
General Duties
- Perform occasional errands or local administrative tasks.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager to support district or facility operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in administrative support, facility coordination, or public service
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred but not required:
- Experience working with public entities, utilities, or special districts
- Familiarity with facility management or vendor coordination
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Contract Details
- Type: Part-time, temporary 1099 Independent Contractor
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours; occasional evenings for public meetings and scheduled events
