SPECIAL KIDS IS A NON_PROFIT CHRISTIAN THERAPY AND NURSING CENTER FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
We are licensed professionals, but first we are Christ followers with a mission to “serve Jesus Christ by caring for His children.” Special Kids offers professional services to children ages birth through 21 years. CNA's at Special Kids’ Kleinau Nursing Center serve medically fragile children who need skilled nursing care,
Shifts: No evenings, weekends, or holidays. Monday-Thursday, full-time 36 hours per week, benefits, holidays and paid time off.
Summary
Assists Nurses and Recreational Therapists in providing direct care for medical needs and activities of daily living for children enrolled in the Skilled Nursing and Equip programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists Nurses and Recreational Therapists in providing direct care for medical needs and activities of daily living for children enrolled in the Skilled Nursing and Equip programs.

- Assists nurses with diaper changes, toileting, repositioning, and making beds.
- Obtains vital signs and informs the nurse of abnormal findings.
- Assists with patient feedings.
- Assists with recreational activities in group format as directed.
- Assists at Front Desk checking patients in and out of the EMR system, scanning documents into EMR system, answering, and transferring phone calls, and other administrative tasks as assigned on an as needed basis.
- Cleans work area and equipment as assigned and as needed throughout the workday.
- Participates in department quality improvement activities.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma (formerly GED) and successful completion of an approved nurse aide/assistant training program.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and web-based applications such as electronic medical records.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license required. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification required.
