What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Lead- Milwaukee, WI position at Spee-Dee Delivery Service?
Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for a self-motivated individual who is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in the direction and coordination of the entire warehouse operations.
Hours and Wages:
- Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00AM start time
- 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- Starting wage: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors attendance of warehouse staff for operations productivity
- Assigns positions in the warehouse for various shifts
- Ensures trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branches
- Communicates with warehouse staff and other management to resolve discrepancies
- Manages security of yard and building
- Holds weekly meetings to communicate goals and assignments
- Disciplines and coaches warehouse staff as needed and records with documentation
- Assists stacking and sorting to ensure flow of freight
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Previous leadership and warehouse operations experience preferred
- Must have the skills to lead and motivate a large team
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is required
- Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work with a full range of motion with no limits to standing, squatting, stair climbing, overhead lifting, walking, and lifting freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
