Job Overview

$15-$20/hour

Clinical Assistant – Pediatric Outpatient Therapy Clinician

Do you love working with kids, staying active, and being part of a positive, supportive team? Our pediatric outpatient therapy clinic is looking for a Clinical Assistant to help keep our days running smoothly and our clinic feeling fun, safe, and welcoming for the children and families we serve.

What You’ll Do

Help set up and clean up therapy rooms so sessions run smoothly

Assist therapists during sessions (play-based activities, materials, transitions)

Escort children to and from therapy spaces and support positive transitions

Clean and sanitize toys and equipment (yes, we play hard and clean well!)

Keep treatment areas organized, safe, and kid-friendly

Support clinic flow, check-in/check-out, and daily operations

Follow HIPAA, safety guidelines, and clinic policies

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience working with children preferred (daycare, camp, babysitting, teaching assistant, etc.)

A positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude

Someone who can take direction, jump in where needed, and keep things moving

An interest in pediatric therapy, healthcare, or education is a big plus

Physical Requirements

Ability to be on your feet, move around the clinic, and engage in active play

Ability to sit on the floor and interact with children

Daily Activities for Clinical Assistant (CA)

Start of Day / Clinic Opening

Prepare therapy rooms for the day by setting up treatment spaces with toys, materials, and equipment per therapist preferences

Check daily schedule and note room assignments and high-need transitions

Ensure all therapy rooms are stocked (gloves, wipes, paper towels, tissues, etc.)

During Therapy Sessions

Escort children to/from the therapy rooms

Support end of session transitions (clean up, goodbye routines)

Sit with a child briefly if a therapist needs to finish documentation or use the restroom

Assist therapists during sessions as directed (play activities, materials, behavior support, prep/cleanup for feeding sessions)

Monitor toy usage and rotate/swap materials as needed from clinicians

Help de-escalate mild behaviors using clinic-approved strategies

Grab materials mid-session so therapists don’t leave the room

Take session data

Between Sessions

Clean and sanitize toys, tables, mats, and equipment

Reset therapy rooms for the next child

Organize materials and return items to proper storage

Communicate with therapists about room needs or upcoming transitions

Clinic Organization & Maintenance

Keep treatment rooms, gym areas, and common spaces tidy throughout the day

Monitor supply levels and notify leadership of low or missing items

Assist with mini dishwasher/feeding supplies

Help maintain organization of toy closets, cabinets, and storage areas

Help prep materials for upcoming sessions or groups

Assist with themed weeks, holiday activities, or clinic events

Support new hires by modeling clinic routines

Take on small organizational projects (toy labeling, material sorting, etc.)

Preparing visual schedules or simple data sheets (as directed)

End of Day / Clinic Closing

Deep clean and sanitize therapy spaces and shared areas

Reset rooms for the next day

Take out trash and recycling

Restock supplies as needed

Assist with closing procedures as assigned

Professional Responsibilities

Follow HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines at all times

Communicate clearly with therapists and front desk staff

Attend required trainings, meetings, or in-services

Follow clinic policies, safety procedures, and supervision guidelines

Jump in proactively without being asked
