What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at SPF Chicago?
Duties:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age
- Clean and sanitize bar area, including utensils and equipment
- Maintain inventory of bar supplies and restock as needed
- Handle transactions and operate the register
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service
Skills:
- Minimum 3-4 years of bartender experience - BASSET or TIPS certified (per Chicago municipality requirements)
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills, including active listening and problem-solving
- Experience in handling food and beverages safely
- Basic knowledge of brewing techniques for beer and cocktails
- Familiarity with Toast POS system or similar point-of-sale software is a plus
