What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Design Engineer position at Spherion Utah?
The Design Engineer will manage the company product drawing, and product/ material specification process including: Review, validation, and approval of current Customer and Supplier product drawings and new product drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Modify and update current product drawings to ensure accuracy of specifications including overall drawing to drawing design requirements and consistency, validation of material requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Validation and recommendations for Ohms, Watts, and Amps requirements.
- Inspecting and sampling products to ensure quality standards are met, and support (NPI) new product introduction.
- Visit customer facilities for design consideration on custom projects.
- Work with Ownership on new patentable product offerings.
- Position is Work in Office (Ogden, UT).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
Minimum 5 years of Design or Development Engineering experience.
Proficiency in working with CAD and 3D Imagining Software.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Aerospace or Automotive industries preferred.
- Experience with International Contract Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Ability to visualize and create new models for product approval.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
- Project Management experience is a bonus.
- Mandarin or Thai fluency is a Big Plus
