SOUTHWESTERN PA HUMAN SERVICES, INC.
Overall Function:
Implements the Positive Action Program and Summer Program at assigned locations. This individual will be responsible for facilitating the MPACT After School and summer Program.
Essential Functions:
- Facilitates the Positive Action Program during the after school and summer programming.
- Helps Plan daily activities to enhance and support academic and social skill development of enrollees.
- Helps the Program Supervisor to recruit and enroll students for program.
- Works collaboratively with parents, school, and staff to create programming that is sensitive to the needs of the Community.
- Assists the Supervisor with communication, material development and project oversite.
- Maintains regular communication with Supervisor, appropriate support staff, parents, school district personnel, and to ensure safe and quality care for all students.
- Maintains all appropriate program information and documentation organized to include attendance, individual child’s records, and all communication documentation.
- Keeps accurate records and submits reports on time and as requested by the Supervisor.
- Keeps all documentation up-to-date and accurate to be turned in to supervisor.
- Maintains the highest level of safety in programming.
- Other duties as required.
- Adheres to all policies, laws, regulations, and codes of ethics and confidentiality as outlined by federal and state laws, and agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree in Education, Social Work or related field or an associate degree in Education, Social Work, or related field with five year’s work experience related directly to the education and development of children and/or families, PA Dept. Of Education Certification from an accredited college or university; one year case management or public education system experience preferred; an equivalent combination of skills, experience and education may be considered, at the discretion of the Agency.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, program staff and other agency personnel.
- Must be culturally sensitive to needs of the community.
- Must have experience working in the community.
- Team player and go-getter! (Ability to work independently and in a team)
- Successfully complete Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania.
- Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police and Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and Fingerprint Based FBI Clearance.
- Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal health care program.
