What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Services Technician position at Spicer Group?
POSITION SUMMARY
This is an entry-level position that provides the opportunity to grow within Spicer Group's Construction Services Group in the East Lansing office. We want to train energetic and ready-to-learn individuals on how to become a qualified Construction Services Technician. The position involves assisting with on-site monitoring of a variety of different construction projects. Staff in this position can find themselves helping oversee installation of a water main one week, and then working alongside construction crews during the construction of a road or bridge the next week. This is an exciting position where staff continue to learn about how municipal projects are designed and built. This is an opportunity to advance within a growing engineering and surveying firm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Spicer Group is looking for individuals who like to work outdoors, are self-motivated, assertive, and have good communication skills. We train our staff on how to perform inspections, communicate with staff members, measure in the field, and observe construction.
This job includes spending time on a variety of different types of construction sites and working with our clients to ensure projects are built to standard. Projects include parks and recreation, water main and sanitary sewer installation, storm water drainage, and roadway improvements.
This is an entry-level position which provides a great opportunity for those interested in starting or continuing their career in construction services. Spicer Group pays for all training costs and offers tuition reimbursement to those who go on to receive education to further their career in this field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Valid driver license
- Clean driving record
- Basic math and computer skills
- Communication skills, both oral and written
