REGIONAL SURVEY MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated professional surveyor, leader and client manager to lead our Northern Ohio regional surveying operations. Immediate needs require someone with a deep understanding of construction projects and construction staking operations in support of major ODOT infrastructure projects. This person must be driven, hardworking and motivated to lead and grow a team of surveyors and technical support staff. Demonstrated experience with control establishment, least squares adjustments, ODOT construction specifications and design survey standards. This person will work with senior leadership to develop and execute the regional business strategy to grow the NE Ohio surveying operations, leveraging the deep experience, technical capabilities and depth of resources of one of the largest surveying companies in the Midwest. Support will be provided to leverage and grow the surveying practice using the latest in surveying technology, including UAS, mobile LiDAR, static laser scanning, single and multibeam sonar, metrology and industrial measurement tools, and the very latest in robotics and GNSS surveying.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capable of leading teams to deliver exceptional service to our clients
- Demonstrated experience preparing proposals, navigating scope & fee negotiations, pursuing new work and working closely with clients
- Capable of working in the field to mentor & train field staff
- Has demonstrated business acumen and understands the industry, how work is procured and the importance of client relationships
- Demonstrated experience managing successful projects, managing scope, budgets, change orders and all aspects of the project life cycle from proposal, through execution, closeout and billings
- Works on office tasks, including LiDAR processing, GPS/Total Station data processing, client deliverables, including reports, maps, and quality oversight
- Can performs physically demanding work in all types of weather and terrain
- Knowledgeable of and/or experienced in the following: Traffic control and safety procedures for a variety of surveying and construction operations
- Advanced knowledge of reading and interpreting construction plans
- Developing grade sheets or staking files/CAD models to support construction projects
- Deep understanding of principles of surveying and construction layout
- Maintains professionalism on the job (e.g. attire, honesty, integrity and respect for personal property)
- Must be able to travel within the Ohio Region
- Per diem and lodging is provided for all travel assignments requiring overnight stay
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying or related field
- Experience working on ODOT and local agency projects
- 5 years of experience in surveying with demonstrated leadership experience
- Licensed professional surveyor in the state of Ohio. Licensure in other states a plus
