Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
This position will report to the Senior Manager of Global Operational Excellence (OPEX) to facilitate the mission of the program through engaging, governing and managing best practice sharing and development of common processes across Spirit’s global sites, deploy and maintain digital visual boards, train, champion, and deployment of Spirit Production System to global operation leaders.
• Process management at the Working Group level:
· Maintain the Standard Operating Process (SOP) for OPEX
· Manage and maintain Global Operations Excellence Sharepoint
· Conduct Working Group meetings with Operations and Support Function Champions/Focal
· Lead the Champions and Focal from each operations area through the process, instituting a
· culture of best practice sharing and implementation, and facilitating the proper support for the
· Global Operations Council meetings
· Update and maintain KPIs to measure progress
· Creating / Updating Business Writings for Operations processes resulting from OPEX as required
· Project management and industrial engineering input for cross-site projects resulting from OPEX:
· Perform project manager responsibilities for cross-site projects such as Digital Vis Board deployment and Spirit Production System (SPS) execution and governance.
· Set up and manage a prioritization process to organize projects to be worked.
· Guide operation leaders to analyze and design sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts, maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow.
· Assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
· Guide development and implementation of optimized product flow.
· Assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of digital vis board layout. Assist in identification and development of standard work for operations and processes.
· Utilizes analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool, and equipment utilization as well as line balancing.
· Leads projects supporting critical improvement opportunities in the shop as identified by the team.
· Performs trend analysis of shop performance measures to identify opportunities and improvements.
· Supports the development of time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.
· Develops business cases and provides return on investment analysis, supporting proposals of forward-looking projects.
Qualifications
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience in industrial engineering or related field or 3-6 years of experience in industrial engineering or related field with a Master’s degree.
· Knowledge of IE Tools used in production including capacity analysis, theory of constraints, waste elimination, production improvements.
· Experience leading projects and project teams with a continuous improvement focus.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
