Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Director Champion Brand to lead the development and execution of our product strategy across key categories. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of our product portfolio, driving innovation, and delivering market-leading apparel that resonates with our customers and brand values.
This position can be located in Lenexa, KS or Winston-Salem, NC.
Essential Duties
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Ownership of P&L and financial metrics across product categories.
- Lead sales forecasting by channel and category, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct pricing and margin analysis to optimize profitability.
- Manage inventory commitments and perform SKU productivity analysis to drive efficiency.
- Oversee the seasonal BLR (Business Line Review) process and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop and manage MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies and departmental budgets.
Product Strategy & Development
- Set the seasonal product roadmap and strategy, grounded in market trends and consumer needs.
- Lead product development from inception through launch, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
- Drive seasonal graphic direction, collaborating with design and art teams.
- Manage seasonal cross-functional capacity planning, including decoration process methods, art, and product development needs.
- Oversee seasonal sales tools, programs, and presentations for both internal and customer-facing use.
- Lead Go-to-Market strategy for NCAA and Pro segments.
- Spearhead collaborations with key partners and influencers.
Consumer & Market Insights
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify white space opportunities and maintain a market-leading position.
- Leverage consumer insights to inform product decisions and innovation.
- Partner with marketing to develop concept shops, embers/activations, and other consumer engagement strategies.
Cross-Functional & Marketing Leadership
- Serve as the brand and marketing lead for Sales Leadership and top customers, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment.
- Act as the lead liaison with AW Marketing and ABG, driving integrated marketing and product strategies.
- Collaborate with Trade and Consumer Marketing to ensure cohesive storytelling and market execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Product Design, or related field or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in product management, preferably in apparel or consumer goods.
- Proven track record of leading successful product launches and managing complex product portfolios.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of the sports apparel market, consumer behavior, and product development processes.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Passion for innovation, performance, and sustainability in apparel.
