Spokane OBGYN is now hiring a surgery scheduler! We are willing to train the right candidate. We are a friendly, multi-location medical practice and we are seeking a candidate with the following abilities to work with our great team!
- Able to deal with many different personalities, including some personalities that can become difficult as a result of the impact of COVID requiring surgeries to be cancelled and rescheduled in order to comply with hospital OR guidelines.
- Schedule appropriate procedures / surgeries per provider’s orders in a manner that is consistent with the patient’s diagnosis and procedure request.
- Creates internal provider schedules consistent with provider’s preferences, and polices same to ensure it is utilized properly by the front desk.
- Applies extreme attention to detail to all duties.
- Interfaces with appropriate hospital staff to ensure a cohesive working relationship in providing patient care services.
- Interfaces with appropriate vendor staff to ensure all necessary equipment will be on site for hospital-based procedures ensuring available time is utilized to maximum efficiency.
- Enters notes/special instructions needed for scheduling in the electronic medical record.
- Assist Care Team by providing support such as stocking patient exam rooms, chaperoning, etc.
- Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations, time of patients scheduled arrival, and any other directional information needed; takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients.
- Confirms patient insurance, obtains prior authorization, prepares patient estimates, reviews with patients to ensure patients have information necessary to make informed decisions regarding their financial needs.
- Ensures patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as needed.
- Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
- Regularly communicate with Billing regarding insurance updates, as well as, patient and insurance balances.
- Maintain effective communication with Clinical teammates, Billing teammates, Receptionist teammates, and Administrator.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality; adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Due to legal mandate by the State of Washington the following is required:
- proof of vaccination or exemption
- properly wearing a mask over both nose and mouth when not eating
- Is consistently at work on time; works shifts as assigned, strives to keep unplanned absences a rarity.
· Demonstrates flexibility by working at both locations according to the staffing needs of the organization.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned or necessary.
