Role: Head Soccer Coach
Position Mission Statement:
You will work as members of the club leadership team to lead, direct, and develop the club while pursuing the SG mission statement which is:
The Sporting Global mission is to help families raise great children. The club does this by transmitting the positive values of humility, effort, ambition, respect, and teamwork through soccer. The club then builds a community of like-minded families around this process.
You will be charged with assisting the further evolution of the club as a championship program that raises the level of play and development of the American players enrolled in the program by implementing the club methodology and the Sporting Global ethos.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Oversee and execute the implementation of the club methodology across a specific set of age groups. Including: Assisting in planning training sessions, leading training sessions, coaching and developing teams as available, adapting the methodology to the talent and playing level of the American player at specific age groups.
· Assist in the design of the competitive plan/path for assigned age group teams including league choice and play, State Cup selection and play, tournament selection, international play, internal competition, friendly matches, inter-club competition.
· Provide leadership to coaches on and of the pitch and work closely with the General Manager and Technical Directors to provide purpose, direction, and motivation to subordinate staff and set the example for others to follow at all levels and through all duties both on and off the pitch. Work actively to build a positive, professional culture and work with staff and families to build a positive environment for families and players.
· Assume responsibility with the coordinator team for the interaction with parents on a customer service basis. With guidance from the senior leadership team, take an active role in interactions with parents, players, and families according to the SG Way.
· Work with the General Manager and other coordinators to supervise the execution of sporting and administrative duties, including the competitive activity across the club including training, tournament, internal & external league, friendly match, and international competitions.
· Provide guidance and supervision in the training and professional development of coaches including technical coaching development as well as guidance on administrative tasks.
Standard of Performance: Expected to comply with Sporting Global professional standards that apply to appearance, demeanor, execution of duties, preparation, professional interactions and adhere to the SG Way at all times. These standards will be reviewed in greater detail during the Coaching Academy sessions.
