What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Director position at Sportsplex Management Group?
Fuel a passion for sports, inspire a team of phenomenal coaches, and build champions this summer leading our Multi-Sport and Specialty Sport Camps!
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the camp
- Actively participate in sports and activities throughout the camp day
- Create a safe, inclusive environment for all campers
- Enforce camp policies and procedures
- Implement activities per the camp schedule / curriculum
- Train and supervise camp staff; this includes periodic observation of coaches where the director provides individual feedback, as well as end-of-summer reviews
- Build positive relationships with campers, parents, and coworkers
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff
- Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during the camp day
- Collaborate with Regional Directors and Operations Managers and provide feedback to continue improving the camp experience
- Maintain facility cleanliness standards for all camp areas (includes the bathrooms, the concession stand, the main office and lobby, both party rooms, all sport surfaces, and the lunch area).
- Maintain camp organization of equipment and report inventory to Regional Director as needed
Qualifications
- G.E.D required, Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- Prior experience working with children is required
- Must attend all required training as scheduled: May 15, 5:30-7:30pm, May 22, 5:30-7:30pm, and May 29, 5:30-6:30pm
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8am - 6pm during the summer months (June, July, August)
