What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent position at SpringHill Suites by Marriott?
Hours we are wanting to fill are 2pm to 10pm. Weekends a must. Even a night audit position at 10pm to 7am If we need someone to fill in.
We are looking for a Hotel Front Desk Agent to serve as our guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. Hotel Front Desk Agent responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities. If you have a knack for customer service and a positive attitude, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.
We are currently looking for someone to work front desk on the weekends, and breakfast/house person during the week. This would include working 7am - 3pm OR 3pm - 11pm Saturday and Sunday, and then some misc. shifts during the week. This is the perfect schedule for someone that is currently looking for part-time hours, but is interested in gaining more hours closer to summertime.
Responsibilities
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
- Be a trusted contact for all guests. Help them with anything from bill issues to local knowledge, and loop in management when necessary
- Helping maintain public areas by making sure they are cleaned efficiently, and in a timely manner
- Assisting with the serving of breakfast, and clean-up
Skills
- Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist or similar role (not required)
- Experience with hotel reservations software, like Fosse (not required)
- Customer service attitude
- Excellent organizational skills
- Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
- Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories
- Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
