Job Duties:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the General Accounting department and the period end financial close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, financial reports and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Analyze financial statements and accounts for unusual trends or discrepancies and interact with other departments as needed to resolve the root cause of any problem
- Assist in formulating accounting procedures and new policies and the implementation of those systems
- Offer, initiate, and implement recommendations for improved efficiencies or stronger internal controls
- Assist with review of Staff Accountant work
- Preparation of financial statements and disclosure schedules
- Drive process improvements and lead exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability, efficiency, and productivity
- Support with year-end audit and schedule requests of external auditors
- Maintain procedure documents for tasks performed using Company standard templates
- Projects as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- at least 3 years of experience, preferably in a mid to large corporate accounting environment or public audit experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exhibits a professional manner in working with others and strives to establish and enhance working relationships
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and technical accounting knowledge
- Knowledge of GAAP and Internal Controls
- Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
