What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Sprint Environmental?
Diesel Mechanics needed for repairs and maintenance on roll off, vacuum trucks and equipment to ensure safe and productive operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose mechanical problems
- Perform typical repairs on steering systems, hydraulic systems, brake systems, transmissions, electrical systems and engines.
- Read and interpret work orders, communicates with drivers for clarification of problems and discuss preventative techniques with them to minimize future repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis.
- Perform vehicle inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met and take corrective measures when required.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Mechanical or trade school certificate
- Industry knowledge and experience performing maintenance and diagnostics on diesel equipment
- Knowledgeable of air/brake systems
- Able to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
