What are the responsibilities and job description for the UAS Engineer IX (Contingent 0052) position at SPS?
This position is contingent upon hire and requires a secret security clearance.
Responsibilities

Provide high-level engineering support in the design, development, testing, and sustainment of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), with emphasis on a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).

Support technical efforts related to mission systems architecture, cybersecurity and information assurance, and aircraft survivability.

Lead or participate in engineering and design reviews; provide expert technical recommendations to government stakeholders.

Conduct systems engineering analyses to identify, resolve, and prevent operational and sustainment issues.

Support planning and oversight of mission-critical computer systems, including acquisition, configuration, and integration of hardware and software.

Analyze technical data to support lifecycle sustainment planning, software/hardware configuration management, and documentation development.

Contribute to logistics documentation such as Lifecycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs), Cost Analysis Requirements Descriptions (CARDs), and technical manuals.

Assist in managing system interface agreements, maintenance strategies, and periodic test/certification planning.
Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited program of study.

Meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT II requirements.

A minimum of 10 years of related job experience is required, all earned after receipt of the task-related degree.

Must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision while receiving strategic guidance from senior managers, engineers, or scientists and independently work to accomplish assigned tasks.

An Engineer must hold an engineering degree from an accredited program; a Scientist must hold a science degree from an accredited college or university.
