Job Description - Non-Exempt Position
Material Handler (6am-6pm 2-2-3 Shift)
Description of Duties
The Materials Handler will:
- Transfer materials between trucks, warehouses, and throughout the production floor as necessitated for the smooth flow of production
- Accept shipments upon arrival at building
- Provide support as needed to logistics and production staff, mainly in the area of materials transfer, using forklifts, bale clamps, pallet jacks, and other necessary equipment
- Examine records such as purchase orders, packing slips, waybills, logs, etc., to ensure completeness of all outgoing shipments and accuracy of records
- Maintain general order and organization of area
- Perform any other tasks assigned by Management
- Support the company’s quality and safety initiatives
The Materials Handler will have:
- 2-5 years of experience working in manufacturing logistics, with experience in continuous process manufacturing a plus
- Previous certification in forklift driving, bale clamp operation, and pallet jack strongly preferred; experience driving a forklift required
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds regularly
- proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
