JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Club Pilates team is seeking a highly experienced operator who can transform 7 growing studios across NC, SC & AL from reactive firefighting into proactive, scalable operations.
This role will lead through a significant ops transformation—from managing day-to-day chaos to building sustainable systems that support aggressive growth. You will be the strategic operator who brings order, efficiency, and profitability to a dynamic business while navigating the complexity of franchise requirements, instructor management, and client experience excellence. The application code word is TRAIN. This role will work in close collaboration with the studio owner to transition the business from owner-dependent operations to a self-managing system that can scale to multiple locations.
This is a W2 Position based in North Carolina with a combination of in-studio, remote, and travel required. Travel required to in state and out of state studios (Montgomery, Alabama).
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUEYou will be stepping into a boutique fitness business at a pivotal transformation moment. The owner is seeking to transition from being deeply involved in daily operations to focusing on strategic growth and potentially opening additional locations.
Your success will be measured by one ultimate outcome: building a profitable, self-managing studio operation within 6 months that can serve as a foundation for multi-location expansion. You'll work with the owner to establish clear 30/60/90/180-day milestones, operating cadences, and decision-making frameworks during your first 90 days.
The right fit for this position is someone who not only leads but is excellent at developing other leaders across the business. You'll need to optimize within constraints while finding creative solutions.
The ideal candidate thrives in the boutique fitness industry and understands the unique operational dynamics of instructor-led businesses, membership models, retention strategies, and the seasonality of fitness operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES (TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ROLE):Strategic Leadership & Business Ops- Partner with the owner to execute studio vision and growth strategy
- Translate growth goals into actionable operational plans
- Serve as the operational leader across all functional areas through culture values
- Navigate franchise requirements while optimizing for local needs and profitability
- Build financial visibility to track profitability, optimize schedules, and drive decisions
- Communicate high-level operational updates and recommendations to ownership
- Recruit, onboard, manage, and develop a high-performing team
- Set performance standards with clear accountability
- Build team culture and community among instructors and members
- Handle performance conversations directly and constructively
- Design compensation structures that retain talent while maintaining margins
- Develop GM, Assistant GM and Lead Instructor talent to support studio expansion
- Own client journey from lead → conversion → long-term retention
- Build systems for onboarding, engagement, and reactivation
- Analyze retention data and proactively reduce churn
- Ensure consistent class quality and client satisfaction
- Build community programming and events that drive loyalty
- Manage client feedback loops and implement improvements
- Build operational systems that reduce owner involvement in daily execution
- Standardize scheduling, team management, communication, and studio workflows
- Implement and leverage technology to improve efficiency (CRM, scheduling, instructor management)
- Use Excel/Sheets to analyze and present operational data
- Develop SOPs for critical studio functions and quality control to uphold brand standards
- Own P&L management and drive toward profitability targets
- Optimize class scheduling around demand, availability, and financial impact
- Manage expenses (payroll, overhead, operational costs)
- Build forecasting and budgeting systems and identify revenue opportunities
- Ensure compliance with franchise reporting and brand standards
- Support sales and front desk teams to improve lead conversion and member acquisition
- Ensure sales processes align across Memberships, Retail, Private Training, and Teacher Training
- Collaborate on local marketing efforts to drive studio traffic
- Monitor acquisition costs and optimize marketing ROI
- Manage vendors across marketing, sales, and studio maintenance to uphold brand standards
- Maintain compliance with Club Pilates franchise requirements
- Navigate reporting, standards, and operational guidelines
- Represent studio interests in franchise communications
- Balance franchise constraints with local operational optimization
- Proven success managing boutique fitness, wellness, or service-based businesses with measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability
- Experience managing membership businesses and leading teams across multiple locations
- Multi-unit or scalable operations experience (systems, SOPs, and processes that work across locations)
- Franchise operations experience strongly preferred
- Financial management: P&L ownership, labor optimization, profitability in membership models
- Track record building and retaining teams in high-turnover environments
- Membership model expertise: retention, churn, LTV, acquisition
- Scheduling optimization to balance demand, revenue, and labor cost
- Client experience design from first touch through retention
- Comfortable implementing operational software and training teams
- Strong recruiting, coaching, and talent development skills

- Salary Range: $110,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience
