YOUR ROLE
As a Flight Safety Engineer, you will be part of our launch safety and operations team. You will handle flight safety in all aspects, with a focus on the development and operations of the new Launch Complex 3.
You will be involved in the test and launch activities of orbital rockets and reusable rocket testing. You will perform safety analysis of the missions to ensure that safety is maintained in all flight phases. You will also be operational during launch campaigns and man a position in the control room.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
You should have a master's degree in a technical or safety-related field. A degree within aerospace engineering is preferred. You are an experienced engineer within your field, extra merit with experience from working with launch operations, trajectory analysis or similar. You also have professional experience using scripting languages.
You must be proficient in both Swedish and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Due to the nature of this role, physical presence at Esrange is mandatory and Swedish citizenship is preferred.

- Perform pre-mission flight safety analysis and prepare a flight safety plan according to the overall pre-mission flight safety process
- Develop test and launch safety policies and procedures
- Responsible for operational flight safety risk management including risk identification, assessment, control, and mitigation activities.
- Participate in tests and campaigns as an operational flight safety role.
- Perform flight safety trainings
- Support Project/Mission Manager in any flight safety questions
- Monitor regulations and ensure the organization complies with all relevant safety standards.
- Participate in projects preparing launches from Esrange by developing the safety systems needed for launch.
- Support range users in developing flight termination systems that are approved for use at Esrange.
