The Engineering Manager* for the Clinton, IA site, leads and implements engineering projects from conception through fulfillment. The engineering manager will be responsible for developing and implementing project strategies, managing process engineering resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents. Developing and reviewing procedures, STD work, SOPs, specifications, design calculation/simulation and projects to improve asset reliability, reduce maintenance costs and foster continuous improvements. Optimization of Preventive/Predictive Maintenance programs, identification and correction of existing maintenance issues.*
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in engineering projects.
- Direct, review, or approve project design changes.
- Confer with management, production, or marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures.
- Present and explain proposals, reports, or findings to clients.
- Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.
- Prepare budgets, bids, or contracts.
- Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand.
- Direct recruitment, placement, and evaluation of engineering project staff.
- Review, recommend, or approve contracts or cost estimates.
- Develop or implement policies, standards, or procedures for engineering and technical work.
- Plan or direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, or repair of facilities or equipment.
- Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing of materials or services.
- Establish scientific or technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management.
- Evaluate environmental regulations or social pressures related to environmental issues to inform strategic or operational decision-making.
- Develop or implement programs to improve sustainability or reduce the environmental impacts of engineering activities or operations.
- Evaluate the environmental impacts of engineering, architecture, or research and development activities.
Position Supervised or Directed:
Supervises engineering activities.
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 3 years of Engineering Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Project Management Experience
- New Product Launch Experience
- 1 years of supervisory experience
- 1 years working with maintenance, preferred
Experience:
- Industrial engineering: 3 years (Required)
- Process Improvement: 1 year (Preferred)
- New Product Launch: 1 year (Preferred)
General Requirements:
- Able to travel to other divisions when required.
- Availability to go to the office from Monday to Friday.
- Detailed and hands-on oriented.
