The Preschools of St. Andrew's in Mahtomedi, a ministry of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, is currently seeking fun-loving, caring, compassionate and energetic full-time and part-time Preschool Teachers!
These positions are eligible for Hiring Bonuses of up to $1,500!!
Anticipated Start Date: Mid May, 2024
The Openings:
- 2 full-time teachers (40 hours per week) ***$1,500 Hiring Bonus!!
- 1 part-time teacher in our Pre-K classroom (ages 4 and 5 - Approx. 20 hours per week-primarily Mondays and Wednesdays) ***$750 Hiring Bonus!!

Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead classroom activities and instruction; Strive to always meet the educational and spiritual needs of the children while always maintaining a safe environment
- Plan and conduct daily group times
- Team plan curriculum to include developmentally appropriate activities to meet individual and group goals
- Assist children with diapering or toileting needs as appropriate
- Evaluate curriculum with other staff members
- Conduct parent conferences
- Communicate and interact with parents on a daily basis
- Attend and assist in planning for family events
- Assume responsibility for maintaining classroom cleanliness, arrangement, appearance, materials, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain necessary reports pertaining to the children and DHS licensing
- Attend meetings, conferences, and classes of professional organizations appropriate for early childhood education
Minimum Requirements:
- **Must be “Teacher Qualified” according to MN DHS Rule 3**
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable and knowledgeable teaching curriculum based on the Christian Faith/Lutheran Theology at an age appropriate level
- Ability to relate warmly to children and parents
- Ability to function in a Christ-centered family/child oriented program with initiative, creativity, and energy
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Evidence of continued professional development
Physical Requirements: (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
- Walking and running in all types of weather; kneeling, bending, and stooping as needed.
- Stamina to keep pace with active children.
- Ability to sing, clap, assist with arts & crafts and other activities typical of a preschool learning environment.

***Hiring Bonuses will be paid to hired candidates in two installments with the first half of the bonus being paid after three months of satisfactory work performance and attendance and the remainder paid after six months of satisfactory work performance and attendance.
