A Day in the Life of Store Manager

Here’s what a typical day in this role might look like:
Directing Staff
- Scheduling and directing staff on daily duties based on needs of the day.
- Pitching in whenever and wherever necessary.
- Leading by example.
Unloading and Sorting
- Begin your day unloading incoming trucks, handling a variety of items—from bags of clothing to electronics like TVs or alarm clocks to furniture.
- Inspect each item carefully to determine its condition.
- If the item is in poor condition: recycle it whenever possible or responsibly dispose of it.
- If the item is in good condition: clean, sort, and price it appropriately for sale.
Stocking and Merchandising
- Deliver sorted and priced items to the sales floor, ensuring they are displayed attractively on shelves, racks, and displays.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor to create a welcoming shopping environment for customers.
Customer Service and Operations
- Greet customers with a friendly smile and assist them in finding what they need.
- Tidy up dressing rooms, restock items, and keep common areas, including restrooms, clean and presentable.
- Operate the point-of-sale system, handling customer checkouts efficiently and accurately.
- Daily accuracy and efficiently producing end-of-day paperwork, posting receipts, and making deposits.

The Store Manager is responsible for the day to day operation and success of the store. The Store Manager duties are ever changing as the needs of the store change. This position requires active self-direction and motivation, as well as being able to give and take direction. This position requires a driven individual who is looking to serve in the community in a unique way.
Store Manager must have:
- Applicants must be at least 25 years old.
- Applicants must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Applicants must have at minimum a High School diploma or equivalent diploma.
- Applicants must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Applicant must have ONE YEAR as supervisor with retail and/or non-profit experience.
- Applicants must be able to repeatedly lift, carry and unload up to 50 lbs.
- Applicants must have a basic knowledge of MS WORD, Excel, email and G suite software.
