Summary
According to established policies, procedures and protocols, performs two-, three-, and possibly four-dimensional ultrasound examinations of anatomical structures for use by licensed practitioner in diagnosis of disease, pathology and study of malfunction of organs.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program.
2. Registration or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S). New graduates must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT within two years of graduation; all other personnel must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT within one year of hire.
3. Completion of one of the following:
• Registered as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the ARDMS within three years of hire.
• Registered in Vascular Sonography (VS) by the ARRT within three years of hire.
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
