Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is an integral member of the treatment team, functioning as the primary conduit between Client and staff, working to ensure the implementation and integration of the person-centered treatment plan. The BHT is responsible for monitoring, observing, and reporting client activities while providing structure and support of the clinical person-centered treatment plan.
Essential Functions:
Adhere to HIPAA compliance in all communication regarding Clients in treatment. Provide consistent, daily, Appropriate engagement with Clients, providing support through implementation of the treatment plan
Display effective documentation, effective communication, confidentiality, and sensitivity skills Orient Client to unit and program, carry out teaching activities identified in the treatment plan under the supervision of the Clinician in charge, and provide continuous Client care and assist Clients in all areas.
Assist Client with activities of daily living
Adheres to training and development standards set forth by Aanji-Bimaadiziwin E.D., Joint Commission, and State Regulations
Upholds familiarity with State and Federal laws and regulations
Taking Clients' vital signs, including pulse rate, breathing rate and blood pressure
Administering medications and supervising Clients to ensure they take them Notating Client records with changes in health status or behavior
Escorting or transporting Clients inside the facility or to appointments off campus Intervening when Clients become dangerous to themselves or others Communicating with staff, Clients and their family members as needed
Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques to deescalate conflicts in a manner that keeps staff and Clients safe
Concentration skills to understand complex written and verbal instructions and follow them completely
Observational skills to pick up on changes in symptoms and behaviors Strong oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff and Clients
Thorough understanding of privacy laws and safety and infection control standards Computer skills to enter information into health information software systemsMinimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency level typically gained through a combination of high school diploma.
- Must demonstrate ability to assess customer and business needs and formulate plan of action. Able to identify potential issues and proactively contain and manage challenges.
- Requires basic to intermediate level computer skills and ability to access information in meaningful ways.
- Requires skill in conflict resolution and team building.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and managers.
- Requires effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Needs commitment to timeliness and attention to detail for acceptable customer service.
- Schedule flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation is Required
- Must hold valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a State of WI. Background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous psychiatric and/or nursing and/or AODA assistant experience
- AODA Certification
- Bachelor's Deg.
- Associates Deg.
- CNA
- LPN

Pay: $21.79 - $28.73 per hour
