Role and Responsibilities
A janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. * Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.) * Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition * Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones * Wash and clean windows and mirrors * Gathers and empties trash * Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities * Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs of repairs * Make minor repairs * Stock and maintain supply rooms * Cooperate with the rest of the staff * Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners * Follow all health and safety regulations * Follows established cleaning schedule * All other duties as requested by administration
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• At least 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent • Reliable transportation • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for several hours • Ability to perform repetitive motion for extended periods of time
Preferred Skills
• Work experience in janitorial work is preferred, but not required • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies • Integrity and ability to work independently • Ability to work well with others, follow instructions, and schedule flexibility due to the needs of the clinic • Experience with using cleaning equipment
