Director of Nursing Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of Nursing leads and directs the overall clinical department of the facility following resident needs, federal and state government regulations, and company policies/procedures to maintain quality care for the residents.
The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in a nursing leadership role, outstanding organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies, IDPH, and federal regulations.
The Director of Nursing will utilize their leadership skills by:
- Supervising, evaluating, and counseling all nursing staff.
- Overseeing department budgets.
- Maintaining high standards of care for all residents.
- Managing residents' data and medical records as confidential records.
- Recruiting, training, and onboarding new nursing staff.
- Providing ongoing education classes.
- Implementing new procedures and training nurses on policies.
- Ensuring a sufficient number of qualified supervisory and supportive nursing personnel are assigned for each unit/shift to meet the resident’s needs.
- Participating in the coordination of resident services through departmental and appropriate staff committee meetings.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a current Illinois license in good standing.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state policies and regulations in the healthcare industry.
- Aptitude for problem-solving.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
