Position: Long Term Substitute- Grade 3
Dates: August 1, 2023 – February 28, 2024
St. John Vianney Catholic School, located in Orlando, FL, has an opening for a highly qualified, long-term substitute position full-time Elementary Education teacher for Grade 3. The ideal candidate will be able to conduct standards-based instruction and assessment while incorporating learning centers into engaging lessons. This position begins August 1, 2023 - February 28, 2024
Responsibilities:
- Organize and direct lessons and activities related to the standards
- Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/lessons for elementary grade levels
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. John Vianney Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management
- Assess and document student progress
- Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
- Integrate technology effectively into the classroom
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from an Accredited College or University
- Current Florida Teaching Certificate
- Teaching experience preferred
- Previous experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred
