POSITION: Gatehouse Attendant
DEPARTMENT: Parks
WORK SCHEDULE: 9:45 – 7:00pm, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
Must be available April through the beginning of October.

Responsibilities
- Serve as front line person dealing with visitors. Answers questions from visitors regarding location of shelters, activities in the park and fees associated with programs or activities.
- Operate cash register, credit card machine, reconcile monies, and complete required paperwork.
- Communicate with park ranger or supervisors regarding programs, problems, and supply needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 15 years of age and be enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must have adequate transportation to commute to and from work site.
Must be able to establish and maintain courteous and effective public relations.
Education/Experience
The use of multi-lined phones is preferred.
Experience with cash registers and credit card machines preferred.
Physical Requirements
Incumbent performs duties involving varying weather conditions, sitting/standing for long periods, sitting/walking at will, pushing/pulling objects, bending, reaching, crouching/kneeling, close/far vision, color depth perception, hearing sounds/communication, speaking clearly, handling/grasping objects. Incumbent maintains considerable contact with the public and may be exposed to irate/difficult persons.
