HIM/Referral Specialist (MGM.2714)
Duties:
Provides customers access to healthcare provider by processing physician referrals. Provides patient appointments with speciality physician. Directly supports internal physician referral process through Allscript to include documentation, insurance verification and scheduling. Processes outgoing referrals to other speciality physicians providing documentation for referral to include insurance information. Answers incoming calls and directs them to appropriate department. Integrates customer service with various types of telephonic and electronic tools to ensure a positive patient experience. Also functions as a medical language specialist, responsible for transcribing/editing dictation by physicians and healthcare providers in order to document patient care.
Requirements:
High School Diploma is required. 3-5 years of experience in Healthcare is required. Minimum of 18 months previous experience working in an office or hospital setting as a customer service representative or health care representative is required. Meditech experience and accuracy and proficiency in computer applications a plus.
