PRN Speech Pathologist at St. Luke's Surrey PlaceDescription
Under the supervision of the Rehab Manager. Organizes and performs medically prescribed Speech Therapy programs. Assists in smooth daily operation of the Speech Department. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. 1. Assumes delegated supervisory responsibility for Speech Language Pathologist students. 2%
2. Represents the department when indicated at professional and related conferences and meetings. 7%
3. Provides liaison from nursing division and medical staff in regard to patient care and Speech Language Pathology activities. 10%
4. Reports to the Rehab Manager regarding program development, form revisions and QA as indicated. 5%
5. Performs testing and evaluation procedures as indicated. Promotes excellent quality of care. 20%
6. Plan Speech Therapy program for each patient based on evaluation findings and physician prescription. 25%
7. Instructs the patient in exercise routine, home programs, use of adaptive equipment and self-care activities. Instruct patient families in these areas if necessary. 2%
8. Records and reports patient initial, progress, and discharge notes in a timely manner. 20%
9. Utilizes trained technicians in partial or total treatments and supervises these programs regularly. 2%
10. Promotes safe environment for patients and staff in the facility. 3%
11. Demonstrates expertise in at least three areas of clinical participation (for example: voice, dysphagia, pediatrics, etc.) 2%
12. Performs other work duties as assigned. 2%
Education
Master's degree in speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution
As required by the state, therapist obtains necessary annual CEU's maintaining compliance with state guidelines.

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by Missouri State Board of Healing Arts and ASHA certifiedExperience
