  • JOB SUMMARY
      The Hospitality Services Float, under the direction of the Laundry Coordinator, Housekeeping coordinators, and/or Hospitality Services Managers, the Hospitality Services Float may be scheduled or floated to work in varying Hospitality Services departments in whole or part day increments as needed. The Hospitality Services Float may be crossed trained and scheduled to work in any of the following Hospitality departments: Laundry, Housekeeping and Nutrition Services.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      Knowledge of work methods and equipment; knowledge of safety procedures and safe work methods; ability to get along well with other employees and in organizing work responsibilities efficiently; ability to understand and interpret oral and written instructions; to keep basic records, to maintain a neat and clean personal appearance. Must be able to read, write, and do simple math in English.

      READING - Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
      WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.
      SPEAKING - Basic: Ability to speak simple sentences.
      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
      REASONING ABILITY - Basic Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT
        Typical Noise Level - Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)

      WORKING CONDITIONS
        May be exposed to risk of bloodborne diseases and/or communicable diseases from body fluids. Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals; works in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding, etc). Subject to burns and cuts; exposed to hazards of steam, heat, wetness and odors in kitchen and/or patient areas; exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements. Exposed to hot or noisy equipment; hot and humid environment and exposed to hazards of steam and heat.
