POSITION: St. Mark's Lutheran Academy-Preschool Aide
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Lead Teacher/Director and Assistant Teacher, the Preschool Aide is responsible for helping with activities, games, and crafts for participants in the program. Preschool Aide acts as a leader for participants and a positive role model.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
● Provide participants with the appropriate leadership during the program.
● Assist in developing and planning activities.
● Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants.
● Maintain open communication with Academy and church staff.
● Maintain a safe environment for participants.
● Maintain a positive attitude.
● Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program.
● Keep rooms neat and orderly.
● Follow and enforce all safety policies.
● Assist with participant check‐in/out.
● Proactive response to any issues and concerns.
● Make recommendations to teachers for improvement on equipment, supplies, facility and program needs.
● Be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
● Assist in other Academy activities as needed.
● Attend training and staff meetings.
Prerequisites:
● Must be at least 17 years of age.
● Pass a background check (if applicable).
● Training in CPR, First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens.
● Negative TB test.
● Must have previous experience working with children.
● Be a self‐starter and perform job with little supervision.
● Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
● Possess the ability to follow written and oral directions.
● Must be able to handle any questions that arise with the public by answering them or by giving them the proper directions for the answer.
● Must be honest, in good health, accurate, have a neat appearance, and a courteous manner.
● Must be in good physical condition.
