This role can be performed from our York, PA office with a Monday/Wednesday in-office plan.
Summary/Objective:
The Engineer/Analyst will collect and analyze client data utilizing proprietary St. Onge Company Healthcare tools and perform engineering analysis for Supply Chain, Sterile Processing, and Material handling equipment application within Healthcare facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
As a key member of the Healthcare team, the Engineer/Analyst will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing hospitals and other medical facilities. This role could also assist in the design of centralized warehouse facilities supporting one or many healthcare facilities. We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to optimize supply chain support spaces, within healthcare, to enable the delivery of care to patients. The role involves utilizing engineering principles and tools to define the optimal application of technology and work processes for support spaces.
Experience Requirement:
•Co-op or internship in a related industry is strongly preferred.
•Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•High attention to detail.
•Commitment to continuous improvement
Education Requirement:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 0-2 years of experience in a hospital or medical facility environment, conducting cost analysis, layout design, or inventory analysis.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Computer Skills:
•Strong analytical experience related to complex supply chain resources and plant operations.
•Proficiency in MS Excel MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Key Responsibilities:
•Collect and perform custom data analysis.
•Manipulate data in databases and spreadsheets.
•Develop and/or utilize in-house developed software tools (as required).
•Develop facility layouts from the data, capital estimating, staffing calculations, and alternative evaluation.
•Develop process flow maps and evaluate for improvement opportunities.
•Client communication associated with data collection and analysis.
•Develop presentation materials and communicate findings in client meetings.
•Assist in writing final reports and other key deliverables as required.
•Travel as required. Will receive close supervision on new assignments or new aspects of a present assignment.
•Assignments are screened for difficult problems.
•Receives assistance if assigned difficult problems.
•Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position.
Work Environment:
Primarily a controlled office environment. Client sites could consist of hospital environments or warehouse operations, and conditions may vary. Travel may be required and could be extensive at times; Occasional overnight travel via various modes of transportation, including automobiles, planes, and buses.
Physical Demands:
St Onge Company operates both hybrid and remote office options. Client site visits may entail walking tours through the hospital support service and patient care areas. Projects may entail lifting materials up to 50 lbs. Extensive travel may be required at times; overnight travel via various modes of transportation, including automobiles, planes, trains and buses.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is client dependent and typically ranges from 10-15%. Travel will vary from project to project. Travel may be extensive at times and less extensive at other times. Travel may be local car travel, regional train travel, or domestic or international Air travel.
