Parish: St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church
Reports To: Director of Music and Liturgy
FLSA Status: Part-Time; Non-Exempt
Summary:
The Musician/ Cantor will be responsible for performing music at various parish services, including Mass and may be contracted to perform at weddings, funerals and other liturgical events as desired.
Must have demonstrated experience with various instruments, either; piano, organ and/ or guitar and be able to sing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform at selected Masses based on personal schedule.
- Is available to perform at special events including weddings, funerals and other events as needed
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Ability to sing with accurate pitch and rhythm
- Ability to play various instruments (Piano/ Organ/ Guitar preferred)
- Basic understanding of Music Theory
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management
- Experience/ knowledge of Roman Catholic Liturgy, including Lectionary and Sacramentary
