Job Description And Position Requirements
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include accountability for maintaining quality performance standards, implementing professional practices to include AORN and AAMI, JC standards, and driving efficiency and productivity.
The Supervisor’s responsibilities include planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating clinical performance, efficiency, and safety practices for the shift. This includes managing the day-to-day operations and assuring quality standards according to evidence-based practice and professional guidelines (e.g., AORN, AAMI, and JC). Serves as a role model in providing leadership and direction to ensure productivity, efficiency, and coordination. Performs various administrative training duties related to Equipment Processing including oversight and training of orientation of new employees. Maintains annual competencies of Equipment Processing personnel. Develops and maintains staff schedule.
Works in collaboration with Infection Prevention and members of organizational departments. Participates in select committees.
Cleans, disassembles and re-assembles, troubleshoots, restocks, packages, inventories, collects and distributes equipment in the hospital and other satellite areas. Responsible for safe handling and care of equipment, and supplies. Responsible for handling all equipment logs in data and inventory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school education or equivalent is required. Evidence of past demonstration of good communication skills, human relations, decision making and interpersonal skills. Experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 30 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, crouching
