JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 JOB SUMMARY: Manages the clinical aspects of the Cardiac Cath Lab inclusive of two cath labs, one vascular lab, one Special Procedures/EP Lab and the outpatient cardiovascular pre and post op unit (CVO). Also oversees the clinical aspects of the nursing function of Radiology and those RNs and LPNs. Must also have the ability to function independently as a nurse in the departments they supervise. This position is responsible for staff development, maintaining staff competencies, upholding quality, and working cohesively with other Cardiovascular Services leaders, the director, and other departments to provide safe and quality care. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current RN Louisiana licensure; BSN, Bachelor degree in related field or actively matriculating to achieve such degree. Minimum of 2 years cardiac cath lab experience. Current BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Able to work flexible hours; Able to take on-call; Basic understanding of budgetary controls; Basic understanding of inventory management. Preferred Qualifications: Prior management experience preferred. CCRN or CVRN preferred. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
