THE POSITION
The Material Receiving Inspector will report directly to the Supplier Quality Technician and be responsible for communicating all supplier quality-related issues/concerns as a result of inspections performed.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Possess general knowledge of Quality System Regulations and International Standards
• Utilizing various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/specifications
• Works closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and supply chain to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents
• Performs mechanical, visual and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools
• Potentially perform CMM Programming and Inspection is possible (or previously trained in addition to experience)
• Communicate with supply chain department personnel on quality issues
• Attach correct labeling to outside of cartons/pallets.
• Must be able to work from blueprints for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments.
• Documents nonconformances discovered during receiving inspections
• Coordinates with Staccato’s Supply Chain department to request Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) for defective products •Participates as a member of the Staccato Material Review Board (MRB)
QUALIFICATIONS
• 1 years in manufacturing (as part of engineering, quality, supply chain, or manufacturing) and proven technical acumen.
• 1 years specific experience as a receiving inspector is a plus, but not required
• Deal with ambiguity, able to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal to no direction
• Strong attention-to-detail
• Strong people skills, effectively communicate and work cross-functionally
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication; able to understand, interpret, and explain technical information
Technical skills:
• Intermediate Microsoft office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience with gauging equipment (calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, hardness testers, optical comparators, etc.) is preferred
• Experience with drawings and interpreting dimensional callouts is a plus
• Understanding of traceability is preferred
