What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at StaffBright?
StaffBright is currently assisting a client to find a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.
What You Will Be Doing
- Work with foam technologies primarily for the medical and furniture industries, including medical mattresses and furniture seating solutions.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on employee safety, error-proofing, and productivity.
- Ensure manufacturing operations meet budgeted cost targets, optimizing efficiency and reducing waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What We Need From You
- Experience in designing, implementing, integrating, and improving manufacturing systems and processes (polyurethane and foam experience preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in Bill of Materials (BOM) management for new product launches.
- Hands-on experience with CAD (specific requirements to be confirmed).
- Strong knowledge of Lean Principles, including value stream mapping, kaizens, sprints, problem-solving, 3P, and visual management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and departments.
