GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Network Technician serves as a member of the team responsible for the administration and maintenance of technology systems and services for Stafford County Public Schools (the “School Division” or “SCPS”). Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Technology Services, the Network Technician performs key roles in district-level system administration, provides technical support for technicians and end users, and assists with the documentation and training of SCPS technology systems.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
System Support
Act as a systems administrator for key district technology systems including identity management systems, G Suite Enterprise for Education, and various endpoint management systems.
Troubleshoot technology issues, follow-up with affected staff, and coordinate with support vendors as required.
Perform user account and group administration for on-premises and cloudbased directory services.
Prioritizes, schedules, and responds to work requests in a timely manner.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation for SCPS technology systems.
Assist with technician and user training on SCPS technology systems.
Support and demonstrate core values of Instructional Technology and Information Services
Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to position.
Respond promptly and thoroughly to written and oral requests for information.
Maintain a clean, neat appearance, appropriate to position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
CompTIA A or equivalent experience required
CompTIA Network , Linux , Microsoft Certified Desktop Administrator, Certified ZENworks Administrator, or other industry certification in network or systems administration required.
G Suite Certification strongly preferred
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in network, device, and/or user system administration

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work environment is primarily inside and the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
