2nd Shift - Monday Through Thursday 5am to 3:30pm
2nd Shift has a $5.00 per hour shift premium on top of base wage
Scope of role
The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards by auditing in-process production, perform in-process/final inspections, and wash/clean finished products including documentation of inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
· Inspects in-process production at specific hold points
· Inspects finished products by confirming specifications on blueprints, conducting visual and/or measurement tests and returning products for rework as necessary
· Inspects re-worked products
· Performs accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspection of raw material, components, and sub-assemblies
· Coordinates the return of unacceptable materials
· Documents and reports inspection findings and results and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings
· Initiates non-conformance reports (material rejection notices) as required
· Conducts various tests and quality checks on finished products ensuring the product has been tested and falls within standards
· Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds
· Compares product with parts list to ensure completion of assembly
· Rejects defective parts, marking type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag
· Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams, and confers with management or Engineering Department to determine quality and reliability standards
· Maintains the calibration program
· Performs internal quality audits
· Performs other quality system processes at the direction of the Quality Manager
· Inspects finished product for quality
· Follows workflow processes and standard work instructions
· Problem solves and communicates effectively with work team
· Contributes ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes
· Follows all safety guidelines and procedures
· Performs other duties as assigned
· Continually working in confined spaces
· Continually working on elevated workspace (12’-15’ above ground)
· Internal and External wash/clean of final products
Interpersonal, Leadership, and Technical Skills
- Proficient with inspection tools and hand tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Unipoint
- Knowledge of geometric tolerances
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent attendance and dependability
- Reading comprehension, knowledge of mathematics and use of active listening skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
