We are a growing private eye care practice serving Stamford and it's vicinity for over 35 years. We specialize in Optometry and specialty contact lenses. Our mission is to provide a high standard of comprehensive eye care to our patients in a caring and professional manner, while also committing to excellent patient/customer service.

We are searching for an energetic and passionate Eye Care Technician who is a team player and able to multi-task while delivering exceptional patient care in a respectful and professional manner.

About the position:
The successful candidate will primarily provide support to a team of Optometrists by performing necessary ancillary diagnostic tests with high efficiency and accuracy.

Primary responsibilities include:
-Collecting preliminary patient data or measurements (pre-testing) utilizing automated instruments, in addition to gathering patient history. Maintaining patients electronic health records.
-Proficient and comfortable in utilizing advanced diagnostic technology such as: a visual field, corneal topographer, digital retinal camera and an optic nerve/retinal imaging device.
-Ensuring proper patient flow throughout the examination process.

Secondary responsibilities include supporting front desk operations. (Duties may include patient insurance verification/eligibility, appointments and telephone/triage).

Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent. College education is a plus.
-2 years experience in an eye care setting (Optometric, Ophthalmic or Optical/Retail).
-1 year minimum experience as an Ophthalmic or Optometric Technician.
-Working knowledge of common eye care and medical terminology.
-Basic working computer skills.
-Experience with electronic health records/practice management software. ExamWriter/OfficeMate is a plus.
-Reliable attendance and transportation.
-Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
-Patient/Customer Service oriented.
-Experience with Contact Lenses is a plus.
-Working knowledge of Medical and Vision Insurance Plans are a plus.
-Familiar with common eye care diagnosis and procedure codes are a plus.

Full Time position (40 hours/week). Some flexibility required. Saturday is a must.
