Pay: $15 - $16/hr. DOE

Job Description:
- Inspect and package heat forged rail track spikes in conformance with customer and industry specifications.
- Check spike dimensions with fixed or preset gauges and visually inspect
spikes for physical defects prior to packaging.
- Work involves simple, routine, and repetitive duties requiring part time concentrated visual attention to product shape, size, and appearance.
- Incumbents rotate on a formal schedule between production inspections (50% of time) and product packaging (50% of the time).
- Inspection involves visually examining forging for surface defects, excessive scale, laps, discoloration, cracks, or pits; verifying product dimensions and head shape are within specification thorough use of preset measuring instruments; and monitoring movement of finished spikes along product conveyer to alleviate or prevent jamming.
- Packaging involves operation of automated filler requiring setup and adjustment of load scale to insure proper weight in each container; manual positioning of manually transfer filled containers to pallet; record product information on container lid and maintain daily production reports.
- On occasion, operate forklift to transfer palletized kegs to dock staging area, shrink wrap station or temporary inventory storage location to prevent delay to production process.
