Overview

As a Civil Foreman, you will serve as a pivotal figure in the execution of civil construction projects, overseeing on-site operations, coordinating work activities, and ensuring compliance with project plans, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role demands a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and organizational skills to effectively manage teams, resources, and timelines while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and laborers to ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.

On-Site Coordination: Coordinate daily work activities, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.

Project Planning: Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand project scope, objectives, and requirements. Develop work schedules, task assignments, and resource plans to meet project milestones and deadlines.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure workmanship meets project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and address any non-conformities promptly.

Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct safety briefings, hazard assessments, and safety training sessions for on-site personnel. Take corrective actions to mitigate safety risks and prevent accidents or injuries.

Material Management: Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site. Monitor material usage, inventory levels, and storage to prevent shortages or wastage.

Progress Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work progress, labor hours, equipment usage, and material consumption. Prepare daily reports, progress updates, and other documentation for project stakeholders.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues, conflicts, and challenges that arise during construction activities. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to implement effective solutions and minimize disruptions.

Communication: Facilitate clear and timely communication between project teams, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders. Provide updates on project status, challenges, and achievements to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or technical training in civil construction or construction management is preferred.

· Proven experience (5 years) in civil construction or related field, with at least (1 year) of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

· Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting construction plans, and understanding project specifications.

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams in a dynamic work environment.

· Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, construction practices, and quality control processes relevant to civil construction projects.

Proficient in the use of construction management software (Heavyjob), MS Office Suite, and other relevant tools for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
